Special Worship Experiences
Psalms Worship Series
Did you know that the word “psalm” can be translated as “song sung to harp music”?
The Psalms were written to be sung! As such, they were regularly used in worship.
In this tradition, on July 22, July 29, and August 5, Shallowford will offer a series of worship services based on the Psalms. We will read, sing, meditate upon, and even chant, Psalms: Psalms of praise, Psalms of thanksgiving, Psalms of lament, Psalms of supplication. There will be a variety of music. These services will take place at the usual time, in our sanctuary, and Jeff will provide a message each Sunday. Come and Worship!
In preparation for these services, we are asking you to share with us specific Psalms that are important to you and to let us know why they are meaningful. We would like to include these special Psalms in our worship! You will find yellow or green cards in the pews that you can fill out and place in the basket provided at the back of the sanctuary. Or simply drop your card in the offering plate.
For those interested in The Pilgrimage classes, these three Sundays will be a lovely, experiential piece of our next class offering, “Immersing in the Psalms”. Click here to read on for further information!
