Celtic Spirituality Classes: July 21, 28 and August 4
Christians who came to faith on the British Isles, in the 4th century and beyond, developed their own unique traditions. In recent decades, we have seen a renewed interest in these practices which hold a reverence for nature and which focus on a personal and intimate relationship with the Creator….“listening for the heartbeat of God”. Celtic Spirituality can be a fresh look at the things of God, which is most needed in the desert of systematic theologies we may be used to.
In this class, we will explore the theology of the Celtic tradition and look at its strengths and weaknesses. The class will include an introduction to the places and saints associated with England and Scotland, as well as opportunities for trying out some of the Celtic practices.
This class will be offered in 3 parts on Sundays July 21, July 28, and August 8, after worship, from 12:15-2:30 PM.
Mark your calendars now! Further information, including how to register and books to be read, will be coming soon!
